About Us

Grounded On Experience. Found On Adaptation.

AfriAdapt was born from practical experience in the water, sanitation, and urban development sectors, and from the recognition that effective solutions must be grounded in local realities. We established AfriAdapt to help adapt, localise, and implement approaches that are technically sound, context-responsive, and built for lasting impact.

The name reflects our identity. Afri represents the African experience that shapes how we think and work, while also reflecting principles that apply across other developing regions. Adapt expresses our commitment both to strengthening climate resilience in local systems and to learning from other contexts, then carefully adapting useful ideas to fit local needs and realities.

Why We Exist: Our Solution and Target

Across Africa and other developing regions, the impacts of climate change are being felt more intensely. Communities and institutions need solutions that are not only innovative but also practical, locally relevant, and sustainable.

We exist to co-create locally grounded adaptation solutions that institutions and communities can own, sustain, and scale for lasting impact.
